SANTA FE'S METAPHYSICAL FILM FESTIVAL
SANTA
FE, NM - The first annual Santa Fe Metaphysical Film Festival, running September 18th through September 21st, 2008, will feature
films, panels and parties at the Scottish Rite Temple in Santa Fe, New Mexico. "This is an opportunity for filmmakers and film-lovers
to explore entertainment that takes us beyond physical reality into the metaphysical world through the rich medium of cinema," says
Festival Director Carolyn Cobelo. Metaphysical films act as a catalyst for inspiring higher consciousness, increasing global
awareness, and encouraging cultural exchange. Their popularity is growing exponentially, as people seek understanding outside traditional
religions.

This documentary features Deepak Chopra, Desmond Tutu as well as Thicht Nhat Hanh and looks at the transcendental power of forgiveness
in situations such as apartheid in South Africa, the Holocaust and the Amish massacre that occurred recently.
THE GOD PROJECT playing
Sunday at 2PM is a World Premiere. Our story follows Joshua who's evolving clairvoyance takes him into a maze of the human subconscious.
The acting and inventive editing of this film make it a must see. Javier Calderon, the film's Director and lead Actor will be
in attendance. He will also participate in the SPIRIT IN FILM PANEL on Saturday at
MIND ALTERING SHORTS will
be screening at 2:50PM on Saturday and 12:15PM on Sunday. These sixteen provocative and entertaining films hail from all over
the World. They include films about school girl aliens, Shamanism, mood swings and psychedelic robot spaceships! At press
time, over two-thirds of the filmmakers are coming to The City Different to showcase their works, making for interactive Q &A's
after screenings and adding to the liveliness of the festival.
In addition to films and panels, the four-day
event will include well-known speakers in the field of film and metaphysics. Friday, September 19th, at 11:00AM, Award-winning
producer BONNY DORE will give a presentation offering audiences' insight garnered from her vast experiences as a producer for ABC,
CBS, HBO as well as being the former President of Women in Film and Television International. Ms. Dore will also be moderating
the Elements in Filmmaking Panel which will also include: David Dirks, NM entertainment lawyer; Jerry Alpert, former licensing NY
& LA CEO; Todd Christensen, artist and location manager; Sanford Astor, LA entertainment lawyer and several festival filmmakers.
This panel will take place Friday at 3:30 PM.

20th at 1:30PM has been heralded in Shirley MacLaine's best-selling books. He is an author and intuitive in the tradition of
Edgar Cayce who has been lecturing on parapsychology and spirituality for over 30 years. The SPIRIT IN FILM PANEL will include:
Kevin Ryerson, Cathy Rosak, an intuitive advisor from Colorado Springs, Javier Calderon, director and lead actor in THE GOD PROJECT
and other festival filmmakers. This panel will take place on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 4:45 PM.
THE AWARDS CEREMONY
The Awards Ceremony is honored to be have celebrated actor GARY FARMER as Master of Ceremonies taking place in the theater of the
Scottish Rite Temple at 8PM on Saturday, September 20. Recognized local artists will present a piece of their art as an award
to the filmmakers whose films were voted Best of Festival. The festival will also give a LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to SHIRLEY MACLAINE,
KEVIN RYERSON, a close friend of Shirley's, will accept her award.
In addition to paying tribute to the winning
filmmakers, the TEWA NORTH DANCERS will perform their sacred dances. They are featured in the local film, DANCING FROM
THE HEART
www.dancingfromtheheart-movie.com that will be screening 10:45AM on Sunday. Immediately after the Awards Ceremony,
the festival will host a GALA PARTY with GARY FARMER and his band, the TROUBLEMAKERS, rocking the ballroom of the Temple. Tickets
are just $10 and open to the public.
There will be PARTIES each night. Thursday will kick off the festival
upstairs at Osteria Restaurant with JONO MANSON. Friday at the Hotel Plaza Real will be a dance party with SITA JAMESON and
the SHIVA BROTHERS, a Hindu chant band. They will be followed by DJ SPINFX from KSFR's Twisted Groove program. Saturday
is the Gala at the Scottish Rite Temple ballroom with Gary Farmer and The Troublemakers. Sunday, at the Hotel Plaza Real will
be Maruti, an ethnic dance band. All parties welcome the public for a nominal cover.
A sacred ART MARKET
will take place in the ballroom above the theater on Friday and Saturday from 11AM-6 PM and Sunday from 11AM-3PM. Local artists
will present their metaphysical art, which includes jewelry, paintings, sculpture and healing metaphysical services. There will be
food booths and a festival lounge, where people can relax and network between films.
